Body Perfect: A poem on Loving Our Physical Selves

Thank you for stopping by!

I have a poem today on the theme of self love, or to be more specific, loving our body.

Honoring the body. Cherishing the body. All important aspects of living a life of

gratitude, peace and understanding. Personally, my journey with this issue has been

difficult at times. It is still a work-in-progress, but recently has become a focus of mine in

a stronger and more meaningful way. I guess you could say that self-love, body-love, is one of my

life lessons. I am now taking more concentrated effort to be loving to my body and

actually express gratitude and awe for the wonder that it is! Our bodies are truly magical and divine!

Here is my poem. I hope you enjoy. I hope you take a moment to consider that your body is perfect,

beautiful. amazing. It too is sacred. It is part of you, part of your journey here. We honor the spiritual,

the nonphysical, all the time. I suddenly realized how the physical, the earthly and material part of

life, is no different. It has made a change in my life for sure. If you can relate, then you know

the place from which this poem stems.  Thank you for sharing in my writing from the heart!!

Awareness has seeped into me
why didn't I feel this before
this knowing of my complete
unity, divinity, sacredness?
I had long revered my nonphysical
aspects; they seemed to me to be
the source and ground of all- yet
I left my body in the dust.
I told myself I knew the truth- what I was
was non-physicality made manifest
for a while.
Slowly, like a hazy dawn,
understanding spread its heavenly light over my
the physical part of life, of me,
shines and breathes in the infinite
because that is all there is!
My body is glorious, worthy of the deepest love
and gratitude for all it has given me
on my journey through the stars...
not just my immaterial and eternal self.
Both are divine,
both are Me.
Radiating love and wonder into the cosmos
forever and ever.

Now: A poem of recognition

Thank you for stopping by. Wishing everyone well!
I have been feeling inspired by recent books I have read
and talks I have listened to lately, and I wrote this poem today as a result.
I hope you enjoy it!

There is so much joy, goodness and beauty all around us - all we
have to do is slow down. Look, listen and love.

Now is When

Now is when you embrace your dream,
when you release all false barricades and
stumbling blocks.
Now is when you choose to stand
for what you want and know is yours.
Now is when you see the world
for the magic that is IS,
see yourself for the magic that is YOU.
Wonder and awe wash over you
in this moment that is the only moment.
This moment is perfect.
In the silence and space between silences
all your power, beauty and love
burst forth and shine like the sun.

Embrace your dream and your inner joy. It is the part of you the world needs to see !!

The Gift Within Silence: Meditation, Poetry, Enlightenment

Hi! Welcome!

I have been thinking recently about the quiet moments, the ones we seem to have to make a
conscious effort to enjoy; those moments of reflection and introspection that offer us
respite, insight and renewal. I want to make time for more of that in my life. Do you?
It is almost as if I am craving the peace and guidance that comes in those moments
when I sit in silence and allow myself to just BE. I can release my sense of urgency
concerning issues in my life that are coming up. I can relax.
Spending time acknowledging blessings, envisioning the future, releasing and letting go
of negative energy, all happen within, in the sacred space that waits for us to be present with it.
Such gifts come to us when we do! Today's poem is a reflection upon that realization.
Does it feel as though you have been drawn to allowing, or experiencing, more quiet moments in your life? Perhaps the beauty and joy around you has been trying to get your attention, saying "let me in!"

I found this quote on stillness and quiet moments that spoke to me. See if it sparks something inside of you!

"In stillness lives wisdom. In quiet you'll find peace.
In solitude you'll find yourself."
                                                   Robin Sharma

Here is my poem today. I hope you enjoy!

The Gift Within

So the moment came for me to rest,
to still my mind and open it
to the wonders of the world.
I was unprepared for the storm that surged within-
so wild and forceful-
and I was undone by the beauty that surrounded me
once the storm had passed.
Radiant light shone everywhere
from everywhere and to everything.
I found myself to be a point of light
hiding at first from her brilliance,
Listening to the voice within the silence
I somehow gained my own;
my own still voice came rushing out
like so much water gushing.
I was flooded with goodness;
peace was carried on the wind.
All this occurred without a sound
just a willingness to know
to be
to love
at last.

Have a beautiful day, and let your knowing shine bright!!
Thank you for being such a special part of my writing world, where I am becoming
more ME all the time!

The Power of Our Inner Light: A Poem of Reflection and Awareness

Today I have  poem about the inner light we have within, the love we are and
the love that we share and impact the world with.
Being true to ourselves,  living from that truth, has become so important to me.
I believe in our power to make a difference, to do something big. Do you?
I hope you enjoy the poem today and welcome any feedback!
Have a great day!

Bringing Sunshine

You are a light,
a source of life,
more resplendent than you know.
You radiate timeless wisdom and create miracles
you know not of.
In your wake lie wonder, healing and peace.
You bring sunshine to the world!
This is something I don't want you to forget
in the dark of night -
that you are spreading rays of hope and inspiration
upon all.
The warmth of the dreams you cause to be fulfilled
is felt as sunlight flowing through the atmosphere,
as the love you bring flows, flows, flows,
spilling into the shadows and into the light.

Poetry of Awakening:The Stirring of Joy

Thank you for stopping by and taking a moment to reflect, to be inspired.
Today's poem comes from being inspired myself after reading a good book.
Isn't it great when that happens? I love to read books that inspire me. Do you?

Here is my poem. I hope you enjoy.

The Stirring

Awaken to the stirring
of joy within you-
let the truth of your beauty be your guide, your clue;
your happiness lies not in what you do
but in finding your passion and to it being true.
You are more than what you see,
you can create your world the way you want it to be.
Infinite is the love within you,
immeasurable the power behind you.
Rest with these bits of wisdom,
let them carry you into the light of your full expression,
and awaken to the stirring of joy within you.

Hope and Dreams: Embracing the Vision

Thank you for stopping by.
Today I have a short inspirational poem
inspired by my love of the beach and new beginnings.
As we get ready for summer, let us not forget that
now is the prefect time for a fresh start, for embracing the new that comes,
for forging ahead with our dreams!
 Looking Forward: In Retrospect

To look forward-
facing the rising sun-
fills me with hope;
it is the dawning of a new day,
new possibilities and joys
calling me.
Inhaling the sweet aroma of hope
I feel my soul expand.
There is nothing but love
and lessons from the past,
memories have inspired me-
at least the ones I keep;
the rest have taught me well.
So now,
a moment to breathe in hope,
to feel restored.
Forward is your vision
when fueled by love,
by hope,
by faith.

Thanks again for your support of my writing dream.... may all your dreams come true!

Spark of Love; Tending to the Muse

Thanks for being here with me.
How is your Spring going?
I have been thinking about growth, life changes, the power we have within
ourselves to be our own source of inspiration and strength. We are more amazing than
we give ourselves credit for! I have a feeling you are a muse to someone, to many perhaps,
so this one is for you.

Spark of Love

The spark of love
is alive, in you,
ready to bloom and
bursting with
Grow! Bloom!
Establish roots and surpass the past.
Shine the in a million ways!
Life is color,
life is a song;
all it takes is a muse
to light the fuse,
for you to have what you need when you are ready
to show yourself
the way.
Go forth and find your muse!
Let vibrant petals fall where they may
as you stand in the sun and walk
toward your destiny,
you beautiful,
spark of love!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing in my poetry. It means so very much to me!

Spring Reflection; poetry and beauty within

Thanks for stopping by!
I have been very inspired by spring colors this week.
With so much bad weather happening all over the place, I sought out
photos and flowers to give me that much needed burst of color. That got me
thinking about the act of providing ourselves with color. With joy.
Our lives are colorful, beautiful expressions of love; we say we "brighten someone's day"
or that someone has a "vibrant personality".
What word speaks to you? sparkle? shine? vibrant?colorful? bold? Let that be your word, your inspiring platform, your self-descriptive tune.
I say, it is time to be all of the above!

Here is a little poem on the topic of Spring and renewal. Enjoy!

What lies within

What lies within
lies dormant only for a time
bursts through the
shooting upwards
releasing potential
dreams ;
beauty and power
lie within
waiting for the sun
of our allowance
to shine upon the seeds
of dreams, possibilities,
Love waters the seeds of our innermost, innate beauty-
it is faith and hope that provide the soil ;
this is the season
of joyful, colorful
expressions of beauty
and life renewing

Be the beauty you wish to see in the world.

Toward the sky; A poem of vision and dreams

Thanks for spending a moment and sharing my writing with me.
I have been doing a little writing, a little submitting, wanting to do more reading.
It had been a very long month for me, and I am glad to see things looking up!
I wrote the following poem when I was thinking about the dream I have for my life,
how it has changed in recent years, and how far I have to go. I  have to tell myself,
look at how far you have come!

Let's remember to keep our dream within our vision. Our heart has eyes to see with too,  you know.

Toward the sky

I turn my life toward seeing
sunrise after sunrise dawn upon my dream.
I lift my heart,
offering up my dream
I raise my hands,
then lower them quickly.
I am empty,
waiting to be filled.
I send my hope and prayers toward the sky
and wait.
Setting my heart upon the rising of the sun
I wait.
Releasing my control, my desire,
letting the wind lift it and carry it away,
I receive.

Happy National Poetry Month !

It is National Poetry Month!
I am so very glad to have writing, poetry in particular, as part of my life now.
I am so glad you are a part of my poetry life, too.
Sharing in something so personal is soaffirming and invigorating!
I wanted to start with a quote on poetry today. What do you think?

I think this is true. What truth could Plato be referring to?
I leave that for you to ponder, but I think it has something to do with
eternal truth, wisdom, and peace. For it to be vital, to me,
it would have to include elements of those things.
Things that impact your life, your spirit. You.

What do you think?

I also think poetry, in the form of nature, of beauty and love, is all around us all the time.
We just have to be open to seeing it.
Our eyes and heart have to open and receptive to seeing it!

Well, in celebration of poetry this month I am going to be writing some new poetry and sharing it here soon. I enjoy quotes, though, and wanted to share a few with you today.
My next few posts will be poems!

What is it you like most about poetry? I guess you can tell that, for me, it is that poetry involves our senses, our emotions, our connection to concepts and ideas.
And it goes with us into the depths of our heart and engages our innermost self with our world.

Until next time. Stay tuned for new poetry!!

Thanks again for including me in your day!

Always look for the poetry of the moment, in the moment. It is always there, shining right
before your eyes...

Choosing Love over Fear: Poem of an Inspired Heart

Hello! Thank you for visiting with me. I am so glad to share my poetry with you.
As it is National Poetry Month, I think I will stop by the library today and pick up
some poetry books.
I am so excited!

I just know I will find inspiration in the pages of a book today...

Do you get inspired and uplifted by what you read? I make an effort (failing sometimes) to get books that do just that for me- inspire me and encourage me. I have favorite authors, favorite books that I read over and over. I also like to find new authors. New books are like a gift, waiting to be opened on Christmas morning!

What I am reading right now isn't a poetry book (gasp! Don't worry, I will share what I find at the library!). It is Wayne Dyer's 10 Secrets for Success and Inner Peace. Such a great book!
In it he mentions love vs. fear, and that was my inspiration for the poem below. I think that part of
living a fulfilled life involves the letting go of fear and learning to embrace love instead.
I know that, for me, this one step has been challenging and part of my life lesson. Anyway, I hope
you enjoy the poem!

My choice

I sit in silence and contemplate
the profundity of what I just read-
the wisdom of the words sit heavy on
my soul and yet makes it lighter
at the same time!
All along it was me-
I knew it was!
I am the one who brought all things
into my life-
I am the one who listened to fear,
who feared the shadows,
even though you create a shadow
when you stand in the light!
But now I see it all so clearly
that the choice of love was there to make
all along, too.
And I choose love!
Letting love be my guide is
my choice
my aha moment
my destiny.
Now I can fly.

Always choose love! It's never the wrong choice!

Thanks for sharing your day with me!

Inspired Words : A Poem of Divine Assistance

Hi! Thank you for stopping by today.
I have a poem today inspired by quiet meditation.
It was during a quiet time of meditation that I felt these words come over me, almost
in a rush. I had been contemplating being open to guidance, to the themes of oneness and unity, and was struck by how strongly I felt the realization that my words, my thoughts and feelings, are always heard. I left my quiet time feeling peaceful and also with a measure of gratefulness and awe.

Here is the poem below. Hope you enjoy!

Inspired Words

I sense your presence in stillness and beauty,
I hear your voice in a song;
love echoes back to me
your sentiment, your intent.

Standing before me I see outstretched
all things lovely and divine;
deep within I recognize them as You.

I rest in the vision that has a hold of my heart,
knowing my life has never been left to chance-
my days not set by circumstance.
You helped me see that.

Reaching for dreams has been our forte,
with tenderness and love you watched
the forming and grasping of them
then waited for me to release myself
from illusion's powerless chains.
You then
gladly walked with me
into freedom's light.

Remember to seek the Presence within the stillness and beauty surrounding you today!

Message of Encouragement :a poem

HI! Today I will let the words of the poem speak for themselves.  As alwaysthank you for stopping by. I wish you  beautiful moments.. one right after the other.

Let the words flow
-come as they may-
release all that has you bound
so you can stand before me
ready to fly to unimaginable
heights,  to see your dreams
come alive
Let the words flow,
unleash the tide of pushed-back
feelings that threaten to drown you.
I say
let the words flow
until you have nothing left to say.
When you have said your peace
peace will find you
and I will be there

We Are: A Poem about Women

Happy Women's Day!!

My poem to celebrate! Hope you enjoy!

We Are

We are the mothers,
sisters, daughters,
friends and wives
and lovers
within and of the world.
We embody divine love;
we nurture life,
possibility and dreams;
we have visions, and,
despite how hopeless
it sometime seems
we carry on.
We are your
and our own as well;
we are creators
of our destiny
and our power runs deep.
When we listen to ourselves
others will listen, too.
We chant what we are,
we sing what we are
and dance to what we are-
now we are writing what we are
onto the page.
Our words, too,
show who we are.

Miracles and Poetry

What has been coming across in my reading and while searching social media lately is miracles.
Stories of miraculous events, quotes on miracles, books on miracles.
Everywhere I look, someone or something is shouting out about miracles. It got me thinking.
What do I consider a miracle? Do I believe in them, and, if so, what role does that belief
have in my faith and worldview?I know, I know. I think too much! That is true. I live in my head
- my thoughts- and have had to learn to focus on the moment. On the now. That said, I feel things deeply, too.Too much sometimes.
Writing down my thoughts and feelings helps me process things. Hence the attraction to poetry!
Anyway, I  have a poem today about miracles. I hope you enjoy it. Remember, stay open to all things
being possible.
As Wayne Dyer said, " I am realistic. I expect miracles."

Now that is the mindset I want to have and maintain!

What is a Miracle

Living and awakening to love
is a miracle;
seeing the kindness behind a smile
is a miracle.
You are a miracle,
as am I.
Letting this truth
reside in your heart
sets the stage for dreams to come true,
for wonder and joy
to create

Sunrise over dreams: The Power and Poetry of Possibilitiy

Hi! Thank you for stopping by. I am glad you are here and I hope you are having great week.

Sometimes we just need a boost, don't we? That is what I have found.

That, and the fact that sometimes we have to give our dreams a little boost!

With that in mind, I have written the following poem. See, I have found that my dream means

more to me than I can easily put into words. There was a time when I thought

"My dream isn't coming true," and "I have to let it go. It wasn't meant to be." Those thoughts

made me feel like part of me was dying inside. I had to turn my thinking around, choose to

believe that what I want to happen will, and give life to my dream in the form of love.

So, that is what I have been doing. Nurturing my dream, holding it as close as my heartbeat.

If you have a dream that isn't realized yet, infuse it with fresh, new energy. Don't let it go.

Not just yet.

Sunrise over Dreams

I watch as colors burst into being
over water, still and serene.
I have spoken my dreams
into the wind, and I wonder
do they hover over the water
waiting to manifest upon my signal,
or do they become mixed with other
yet-to-be manifested desires? Are they,
like all the colors in they sky,
destined to become part of the sunrise?
Wherever they are,
they are part of me,
and I envision
their rising
with the sun
one day.

Travel and Inspiration: A journey of the Self

Hi! Today's poem is inspired by travel. Specifically, how traveling can awaken within us an awareness of connectedness, an appreciation of diversity, a broadening of perspective. These gifts do not automatically come with the purchase of an excursion or walk on the beach, but with an openness and willingness to be impacted by all that is new and comes your way. So, in that sense, every day can be a journey to some new place- not just physically, but emotionally, spiritually, mentally.
So here's to our beautiful journey. May it be full of beautiful sights!

Distant Shores

I long to travel to distant shores
where the exotic becomes familiar
and who I am becomes discovered;
this exploration and uncovering
starts by leaving one shore and
going in search of another.
My footfalls lead me toward
a new horizon,
lead  me home again.
I am home again only
for a while
I am filled with longing
to travel once again
to distant shores.

Dreams, and poetic musings

Thank you for visiting my poetry blog. I am so glad you are here. I hope you find a spark of inspiration today, hope you have a moment of insight. I love words that inspire and that evoke emotion. That's why I love poetry! Today's poems are about dreams. I have been thinking and
allowing myself to access my feelings about the subject of dreams, specifically what we
dream of for our lives. Those dreams.

Anyway, here are my two latest poems. I hope you enjoy!

I am dreaming and
wanting my dream to be real;
I am hoping, still
striving. Stop,
that's not the way!
Slowly, I see
I am the dreamer
and the dream is within me;
we are one, my dream and I.
We are one and I am awake,
living my dream.

Go for your dreams-
let them lull you awake!
They will shine a light upon
your moon-lit fantasies
and warm the sleeping tiger
sleeping in the jungle of your heart.
They - your dreams - will become the air, the sun,
the moon, and even
the water and earth beneath your feet.
Go immerse yourself. Fall into your dream,
heart first.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

Welcome to my poetry blog, and to a new year. 2017!

My hopes for this year are big. I have set some new goals; having set them in my mind they will be

soon written down. Does it help you to write things down? What are you envisioning for this coming

year? I plan to write more poetry, submit to more contests and publishers, to basically make more

space and time for writing. On that note, I have a new poem that I hope you enjoy.

Have a great start to the new year!

Making Space

I am making space -

space for me

to breathe,

to create,

to explore.

I am making space

for becoming

for growing

for expanding.

This making space

involves clearing,

letting go;

it also means

The time for all this is now.

Would you like to join me?
