Finding Your Happiness: Poetry on feeling IT.

Image
Hello! Thank you for stopping by. Hope you are doing well. During this time I have been surprisingly busy... doing nothing. Nothing much on the outside. Laundry and other housework are done at an unhurried pace. Everything gets done, I just don't stress over being quick with it. I have enjoyed slowing down on purpose, even in regards to things that seem important. In other words, I have relaxed. I have given more conscious thought to what makes me happy and I do that. In the same way I had to learn to love my body (body image not too good growing up) and appreciate it, I am loving and cherishing and tending to my mental health. I want as little stress as possible. I am seeking happiness. So that is what I am doing, and that is what my newest poetry is about. I know things are crazy right now, the days can seem overwhelming and the light may seem far away, but I have faith we will get there. Sooner rather than later. I hope you are feeling encouraged, allow peace...

Feeling the unity, so important right now! A poem and reflection.

Image
Hello. May I take this moment to wish you well, and say thank you for stopping by. I have felt the need to write, express myself lately but have also felt so uneasy with all that is going on. I am reminding myself of truths that I know, trying to focus on holding onto peace and normalcy, grow in some way from this experience. This is kind of where I am right now, and so I offer you the words below with blessing and hope. And gratitude. Thank you. We are One One voice One heart One LOVE One One whisper One wave One sun One One life One heart One LOVE One ; We are One We are One Underneath the lies and dreams there is only truth existing as us there is love one love - Us ! Remember to live from that one love Remember to Be that love, honor the life that you are and everything will be well again

Gratitude and Beauty; Taking it all in

Image
Hi! Welcome, and thanks for being here. I hope your summer is going well. Busy or relaxed, the longer daylight hours can offer us moments to reflect upon things and admire nature. That is what I love about summer- the color, nature in full bloom, early sunrise with my coffee. Nature can be so inspiring! For today's poetry I will share my recent personal photos taken while on vacation. I love to be surrounded by nature! In Quiet Moments Breathe slowly take in all the colors let the wind caress your shoulders and fill you with a knowing This wind and sky are gently surrounding you holding you providing you with all you think you need So when you stop to look around and gratitude flows from some deep place it is in that moment that you are shown the truth of your beauty and sacredness it is those quiet moments that change how you see yourself and the world

What happens when you believe... poems to encourage

Image
When someone believes in themselves The whole world conspires To throw galaxies of confetti At their feet. Did you hear that? I just heard a whispering voice say Be careful where you walk... Don't forget to say I love you To others To yourself To your dreams    You know, the ones waiting in your heart    For you to rain blessing and sunshine    Upon them with your words.

Feeling energized? Getting Inspired and going for it!

Hi! Thank you for stopping by. I am glad you are here. How has this year been for you, so far? Wow, it is already June! For me, it has been an emotional year - or should I say past few months. I am finding myself in the position of asking what do I really want to do with my life, my time, my passion? I want to be one who offers encouragement, insight, a bit of a nudge. I want my writing to uplift and inspire. So, with that being said, I have only recently begun to write my next poetry book and hold within myself the energy and inspiration to write. I was previously doing something that taxed me beyond what I let on to others and I had no energy left for writing, which is really my passion. Poetry, for me, stems from an untouchable place within. Stress and trying to force it does not work. Good news is I have been given the time to write for now and it feels so good!! I am writing more poetry than I have in a long time and I am allowing myself the cha...

Moving Forward: A poem and reflection

Image
Moving Forward Hello!Welcome, and thank you for stopping by. I am headed toward a life change, professionally speaking. And it has me thinking. Specifically, about how much time I spend thinking about things that are to come. Things that I want to happen, things I hope don't happen. You get the idea. I also think about the past way too much, so how much time does that leave for right now, the present? Not enough. So, for me, a new focus has emerged. To be more mindful of the moment. There is so much to appreciate. There really is no reason to stress so much. Breathe. I feel much better already. Hope you enjoy the below poem! The Gift Right before my eyes I see you me everything I see love and dreams I see tears and moonlight  dancing But most of all I see the gift of time and space and the words that exist between them

Being all that you are: living true to yourself

Image
Hi! Welcome! It's been a while since my last post. I hope all is well with you and that good things come with the better spring weather very soon. I have been hit with one theme over and over again lately, and that is the importance of living from an authentic place.  Being yourself in your day to day life. It seems hard to do for some reason in our culture. Why do we have to fight to just be ourselves? It is so tiring. Is it any wonder, we might have  hard time knowing others if we don't or won't  take time to know ourselves and to be that? Thinking about that led me to write some new poetry. I hope you enjoy! Me I am here dreaming working living trying to find my joy; Somewhere all that I love is waiting for me to embrace it claim it and my talents are bursting to be set free. I am so ready to just be me! Better World So if everyone expressed their gifts allowed their heart to shine sang their own unique song then We would...

Inner light:Recognizing your highest Self

Image
Hi. Welcome! Today's poem is about our inner light, that spark within us which we so often forget to acknowledge or access, but which is in truth our very Self. INNER LIGHT  Your inner light Calls you awake, then Gently leads you home. Your inner light Dreams with you And greets the sun Through your eyes; Your inner light Goes before you To create the beauty that you see. Shine, nurture, Love that inner light And your world Will never be the same.

Placing Yourself : A Poem about Place

Image
Hi! Thank you for stopping by. This most recent poem I have is inspired by many things... songs on the radio that I have heard recently, favorite quotes that keep reappearing on social media, and even books that I am reading again. The current theme of not feeling like you belong, and then finding that place, is what my poem is about. Actually, it is about awakening to the fact that where you are at the moment is perfect, for you, for the present. The present contains all that you need. The future, whatever you wish it to be, is waiting. You will get there. Just remember that  now holds the beauty, the promise, the love, that you dreamed of yesterday! Finding Your Place Seeking, looking turning around with the goal of resting once you find your place did you really have to go anywhere at all This restless energy can be stilled by a breath a whisper hushed upon the dream of your heart in the quiet moment you see your place the plac...

Ready for Adventure: A Poem of Adventure

Image
Hi! For today I have a brief poem. Are you ready for adventure?   Adventure   Take the adventure that faith provides- life wants to share moments of joy with you, wants to show you the beauty that is around you. That is You. Embracing beauty, embracing yourself, is part of the adventure. It will take you to the far reaches of eternity, where love dwells. Are you up for an epic trip? Just open your heart and fly.

Dreams of Now: Poetry of Stillness and Encouragement

Image
Hello! Thank you for stopping by. Here are a few of my newest poems. Enjoy! Just Be Be in the space of allowing let abundance dance in the light of your happiness Breathe in the air of peace as it washes over you This is the moment to own your gift to celebrate all that you are because love is and always will be for you part of you Always Wake Up Wake up and don't give away your dreams to the night Infuse them instead with love let the light dawn upon them so they may bloom at first light; though winds may blow they are no match against the power of your heart beating for a dream

Recognition: Poetry of an Aha-Moment

Image
Hello! Thank you for stopping by. I am so thankful that you decided to spend a few minutes here. Welcome!     I hope you like my newest poems. They come from a time of quiet reflection, of going still and opening myself up to how much I have to be grateful for. They also came from really embracing who I feel that I am- that we all are. Here is one poem, with more to come soon! Recognition   I am surrounded in the dark by a shining light, I am pulled into a pool of warmth and bathed in shimmering peace. This moment feels frozen - full - and I am empty. Even in this space love grows - especially in this place - I sense a truth settling over me; I am part of all that I see and it is part of me. Eternity exists within us all, and those with eyes to see see only Love. Thank you again for sharing in my heart's calling. Stay in Love!

Moments; A poem of self reflection

Image
Hello! Thanks for stopping by. I hope your year is getting off to a great start! I have stocked up on books for reading through this cold spell and have been inspired. Inspired to embrace the moment more, to live in awe and appreciation. I hope you enjoy the poem. Stay inspired, and listen to what the moment has to say. MOMENTS Far away  tucked in my memory is an idea, a dream, a knowing, that all of life's treasures are held in this moment- and I am here to savor them all.

Happy New Year: Poetry of New Beginnings

Image
New Year, New Dreams Happy New Year!! Welcome 2018! On the beginning of this new year  I am looking forward to many good things happening and I feel grateful for all that last year brought me. I even bought a planner for the year and am so excited to use it! Here is my poem about new beginnings.   New Beginnings Starting out with visions dreams and unfulfilled longings the heart steps forward in faith with hope and love besides; what lies ahead stirs the soul to greater heights than a whispered verse in the dark. Take the dawn of new beginnings into your heart's chamber nurture the moment's potential with tenderness and gratitude for all things begin as a thought that has been loved into reality. Happy New Year; may this be a year full of many great things for you!

Knowing the Self: a moment of self awareness

Image
Thank you for joining me today. I am going to let my poem speak for itself  today, but I want to wish everyone all the best. I appreciate you!! Knowing Seeking something unknown - yet familiar - you exist In the silence your longing resonates with the voice inside your heart and suddenly the winds of wisdom wash over you and you know you know who you are at last At that moment purpose and peace shall find you having never left you at all.

Embracing Your Dream... A poem to inspire

Image
Here's to listening to the call of your soul. Your Dream Don't give up on your dream the one that takes your breath away the one that feels like sunshine and oxygen... you have every help available to you the force of the universe lies within you and around you waiting for you to demonstrate your readiness to receive your dream Even if you have to do it slowly open, open, open your heart and face the dawning of your glorious dream.

Seeking Wisely: A poem about looking within

Image
The gift is within. The answer is within. These words we have heard before, but what do they mean? To me, they mean that for every obstacle we face, every storm that comes our way, during every trial, there is something within us that we can access that will see us through. This something is always present, deep within us, and it means we are never alone. I have had to access this part of myself more often than I would like, as have we all. As part of our journey, it is part of our story. And so it is. In thinking on this, I was inspired to write a poem. I hope you enjoy!! To Seek They say to seek, so I sought. They say to be open, so I opened my heart. Then one day I stopped. There was no joy to be found even after all my searching and doing. I felt through all that was surrounding me, releasing more as time went on. I moved again and had to stop. Forced to remove a stumbling block, I surprised myself  at how easy it ...

Body Perfect: A poem on Loving Our Physical Selves

Image
Hi! Thank you for stopping by! I have a poem today on the theme of self love, or to be more specific, loving our body. Honoring the body. Cherishing the body. All important aspects of living a life of gratitude, peace and understanding. Personally, my journey with this issue has been difficult at times. It is still a work-in-progress, but recently has become a focus of mine in a stronger and more meaningful way. I guess you could say that self-love, body-love, is one of my life lessons. I am now taking more concentrated effort to be loving to my body and actually express gratitude and awe for the wonder that it is! Our bodies are truly magical and divine! Here is my poem. I hope you enjoy. I hope you take a moment to consider that your body is perfect, beautiful. amazing. It too is sacred. It is part of you, part of your journey here. We honor the spiritual, the nonphysical, all the time. I suddenly realized how the physical, the earthly and ma...

Choosing Love over Fear: Poem of an Inspired Heart

Image
Hello! Thank you for visiting with me. I am so glad to share my poetry with you. As it is National Poetry Month, I think I will stop by the library today and pick up some poetry books. I am so excited! I just know I will find inspiration in the pages of a book today... Do you get inspired and uplifted by what you read? I make an effort (failing sometimes) to get books that do just that for me- inspire me and encourage me. I have favorite authors, favorite books that I read over and over. I also like to find new authors. New books are like a gift, waiting to be opened on Christmas morning! What I am reading right now isn't a poetry book (gasp! Don't worry, I will share what I find at the library!). It is Wayne Dyer's 10 Secrets for Success and Inner Peace. Such a great book! In it he mentions love vs. fear, and that was my inspiration for the poem below. I think that part of living a fulfilled life involves the letting go of fear and learning to embrac...
