Now: A poem of recognition

I have been feeling inspired by recent books I have read
and talks I have listened to lately, and I wrote this poem today as a result.

There is so much joy, goodness and beauty all around us - all we
have to do is slow down. Look, listen and love.














Now is When

Now is when you embrace your dream,
when you release all false barricades and
stumbling blocks.
Now is when you choose to stand
for what you want and know is yours.
Now is when you see the world
for the magic that is IS,
see yourself for the magic that is YOU.
Wonder and awe wash over you
now
in this moment that is the only moment.
Rest.
This moment is perfect.
Breathe.
In the silence and space between silences
all your power, beauty and love
burst forth and shine like the sun.






 
                                                              
Embrace your dream and your inner joy. It is the part of you the world needs to see !!

Listening to Self and Writing Poetry

Hi! Thanks for stopping by. Lately I have been working on new poems. I am inspired by spring coming up, by books I have been reading, by quotes that I have saved on Pinterest. But most of all I have been inspired by the recurring word; "Listen." The same word keeps appearing in all my reading material, and again as I browse on social media. In books, on Facebook posts, on Twitter. Over and over I see the admonition to listen. Listen to what? Perhaps to my inner Self. That part of me that responds to poetry, to spiritual and self-growth books. The part of me that feels the words that I write down. When I do, I notice that my poems come easier. They are more expressive. Ah. My poetry comes from a place that I listen to in silence. Sit before in silence. Open up to in silence. When we listen to others, we are giving them a gift. Season of inspiration

  So much newness in spring! I love the season of spring. Just the sight of color can sooth my restless spirit and can fuel my imagination with ideas and possibilities. Endless examples of life, growth, change. Everything is vibrant and new. Love is in the air, they say.   So you might say I personally feel inspired by spring. By weather that is warm, colorful. When it comes to writing we can look for what inspires us and use that in a way that brings a certain quality to what we write. This quality will shine through even if we can't identify what it is exactly.   Think to what inspires you, take care to not to keep yourself from those things for too long. Really, this is about being in balance and not being too extreme on either end of the spectrum. Burnout and lack of inspiration, while maybe not totally unavoidable at times, can be lessened and shortened intensity perhaps if we take steps to fill our days with as much of what inspires us as we can.  ...
